Lahore/Karachi April 20 (TNS): Singer and actor Ali Zafar, who has been accused of sexual harassment by singer Meesha Shafi, denied that he ever sexually harassed her. On Twitter, the singer said that he will be taking the legal route to sue the female singer.
I intend to take this through the courts of law and to address this professionally and seriously rather than to lodge any allegations here,” Ali said in a tweet.
Early in the day, Shafi took to social media accusing Zafar of sexually harassing her and that her “conscience does not allow me to be silent anymore”.
“Sharing this because I believe that by speaking out about my own experience of sexual harassment, I will break the culture of silence that permeates through our society. It is not easy to speak out… but it is harder to stay silent. My conscience will not allow it anymore #MeToo.”
