Islamabad April 21 (TNS): The New Islamabad Airport’s police jurisdiction has become a bone contention between Rawalpindi and Attock police.
According to reports, 75 percent of the airport falls under the ambit of Qatbal Police Station of Attock and 25 percent in Naseerabad police jurisdiction of Rawalpindi.
Despite many rounds of meetings, the authorities have failed to sort out and delimit the boundary and jurisdiction of the airport.
According to the current arrangement, the runway and the ground of the airport fall under the jurisdiction of Attock police, while offices and the trauma center fall under the jurisdiction of the Rawalpindi police.
The issue, if unresolved before the inauguration of the airport, could lead to legal complications and litigations.
