Chairman NAB orders inquiries against black-sheep within watchdog

Islamabad, April 22(TNS): Chairman National Accountability Bureau Justice (R) Javed Iqbal has suspended Deputy Director NAB Lahore Ramzan on the charges of alleged Inefficiency and negligence in performance of official duties with immediate effect.

An inquiry has been ordered for completion of all legal formalities including opportunity to Ramzan DD NAB Lahore to defend charges against him as per law.

Moreover, formal inquiry has been started against Kashif Mumtaz Gondal Deputy Director Sukkur who was suspended on the direction of Chairman NAB for three months on the alleged charges of misconduct.

Moreover, On the direction of chairman NAB, the watchdog has proceeded against 85 officers/officials of NAB.

“Out of 85 officers/officials of NAB, 23 officers/officials were awarded major penalty of removal from service, 32 officers/officials were awarded minor penalty.  Chairman NAB Honourable Justice Javed Iqbal has said that self-accountability is very necessary towards adoption of ‘Accountability for All’. NAB absolutely committed for eradication of corruption from the country across the board”, the statement added.
