Lahore, April 22 (TNS): Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar has suspended Dr Uzma Qureshi as Vice Chancellor Lahore College for Women University.
During the hearing here on Sunday Chief Justice of Pakistan said that appointments against the law and merit would not be allowed.
The Chief Justice also ordered inquiry against the education minister for illegal appointment of Dr Uzma Qureshi as Vice Chancellor Lahore College for Women University.
Earlier, the Chief Justice of Pakistan had taken notice of appointment of Dr Uzma Qureshi, Vice Chancellor Lahore College for Women University, says a statement issued by office of Registrar of the Supreme Court.
According to statement taking notice of alleged illegal appointment, the Chief Justice issued notice to Dr Uzma Qureshi and Syed Raza Ali Gilani Minister for Higher Education Punjab to appear in court.
