Pakistan’s defence, economic relations with Russia improving: FO

ISLAMABAD, April 26 (TNS): Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Wednesday said Pakistan’s relations with Russia in defence and economic sector were improving gradually.

During an interview with a private news channel Mr. Asif said that besides other sectors, Russia was also showing a keen interest in the energy projects.

Pakistan’s interest was inter-linked with Russia, China and Turkey, he said.

Discussions were underway with Russian counterpart regarding cooperation in the war against terrorism, he said. Commenting on China Pakistan Economic Corridor, he said China had invested about 60 billion dollars, but now Russia was expressing its interest in the energy field, he said. To a question, he said enhancing relations with Russia was part of our foreign policy.
