Charsadda police foil an arm, ammunitions bid to smuggle

Charsadda, April 27 (TNS): The local seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition which was being smuggled to Punjab from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday.

According to police, District Superintendent Police Zahoor Babar Afridi received information that a car AAG-253 filled carrying arms and ammunition will cross the Darra Adam Khel.

Acting upon the information DSP city, under the supervision of Syed Iftikhar Shah, SHO Ghafir Ullah Khan and the Incharge of Checkpost Sardaryab Behermand Shah Khan cordoned off the area and started searching vehicles.

 

 

During the checking, the two suspected smugglers were arrested and a huge cache of arms and ammunition including 20 pistols, a Kalashnikov and heaves of ammunition along with magazines concealed in various partsĀ of the vehicle were seized from their possession.

Senior House Officer Ghafir Ullah Khan said thatĀ the Ammunitions and arms were being smuggled through the route of Charsadda Darra Adam Khel to Punjab province.

The suspected smugglers were identified as Humyaun Shams ul Rehman a resident of Shabqadar and his partner Khair Ul din.

A case was filed against the two accused smugglers in City police station and investigation is underway.
