LPC officials remanded in NAB custody

LAHORE, Apr 28 (TNS): An accountability court handed over four officials of Lahore Parking Company (LPC) and another to National Accountability Bureau on 15 days physical remand in a corruption case.

Earlier, the NAB officials produced company’s officials including chief executive officer Taseer Ahmed, chief financial officer Usman Qayyum, general manager Faizan Wali and accounts manager Saad Rafique and National Technology Group (NTG) CEO Faisal Rao before Accountability Court Judge Syed Najamul Hassan.

The NAB officials submitted that the accused officials violated PPRA rules and illegally awarded the contract to the NTG and Green Park, causing loss of millions of rupees to the national exchequer. They requested the court to grant physical remand of the accused for investigation.

At this, the court handed over the accused to NAB on 15 days physical and directed to produce them again on expiry of the remand term
