Indian trooper attempts suicide in IOK, hospitalized in critical condition

SRINAGAR, April 28 (TNS): A Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) constable was hospitalized after he shot himself at a camp in Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday night.

Quoting official sources, UNI news agency reported that the constable, Amreet Singh, was shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment.

Forces’ personnel rushed to his room after hearing the sound of a gunshot and found Singh lying in a pool of blood, it said.

According to the research section of Kashmir Media Service, the number of suicidal deaths amongst Indian troops and police personnel in occupied Kashmir is over 400 since January 2007.
