Comprehensive security plan devised for 330 congregations of Shab-i-Baraat across Sargodha region

SARGODHA, April 28 (TNS): The regional police have chalked out a comprehensive security plan for 330 congregations of Shab-i-Baraat in mosques across the region where 773 police officials, 643 Pakistan Qaumi Razakars (volunteers), 289 private security guards will be deployed.

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dr. Muhammad Akhtar Abbas briefed the media that stringent security arrangements would be ensured throughout the region for the religious gatherings.

The district police officers have been directed to hold inter-faith harmony meetings with the people concerned before Shab-e-Baraat.

The RPO said the security cordon consists of three tier. Only single entry will be allowed for participants. Lighting arrangements, monitoring with 70 CCTV cameras and video recording will be done for ensuring foolproof security.

As many as 328 metal detectors and nine walkthrough gates will also be provided for security purposes. Out of 330 mosques, 83 falls in category ‘A’, 221 in category ‘B’ while 26 in category ‘C’.
