Bilawal, Zardari pledge to stand by the working class

KARACHI, May 01 (TNS): Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that PPP will continue its struggle for the rights and privileges of working and labour class in the country, saying that they are the backbone for his party and the society.

In a message on the eve of International Labour Day being observed across the world today (May 1), the PPP chief pointed out that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto unveiled first-ever Labour Policy in February 1972 and introduced trade union rights in the country.

He said the PPP’s government had launched Benazir Employees Stock Option Scheme (BESOS) to offer free shares to the staffers of the state enterprises.

PPP President Asif Ali Zardari  in his message on the on the eve of International Labour Day has warned against sacking workers in any state-run enterprise under any pretext saying that his party will ensure workers’ job security and not let them be deprived of their livelihood.
