ISLAMABAD, May 02 (TNS): Federal Minister for Power Division Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari chaired a meeting on Tuesday on matters relating to electricity situation in the country.
The minister directed that maximum efforts be made to provide relief to the consumers.
He directed that the category I feeders acro consumers.try be prioritized in terms of electricity supply and the temporary shortage of electricity due to tripping and testing of plants may be distributed in the other than category I feeders, said a press release.
The category I feeders accounts for 61% of total feeders in the country. The minister further directed that no rural urban divide be observed in terms of category of feeders. He also directed that the situation may be closely monitored and appreciated the PEPCO team led by its MD Musadiq Ahmed Khan for their round the clock monitoring of each and every feeder in the country .
The minister also directed that close coordination may be maintained with the power plants management to bring the generation online within shortest possible time.
