Kenya expresses desire to further expand ties with Pakistan

Islamabad, May 2 (TNS): Kenya on Wednesday expressed desire to further expand ties with Pakistan in diverse fields including trade and defence, state media reported.

This was stated by Foreign Minister of Kenya Dr. Monica Juma during a meeting with Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua in Islamabad. Dr. Monica Juma underscored the need for a broad framework cooperation agreement for further developing bilateral ties in mutually beneficial areas of cooperation like agriculture, pharmaceuticals, youth development and defence cooperation.

Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua apprised the Kenyan Foreign Minister of relations with regional neighbours as well as the grave human rights situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

Addressing Pak-Kenya trade and investment conference in Karachi today, Minister for Commerce and Textile Pervaiz Malik has said Pakistan has aspiration to enhance its trade volume with African countries.

He said trade agreements have also been signed with African countries.

The Minister said the government will provide facilities to African investors to avail the opportunities of investment in Pakistan.

He said Pak-Kenya trade conference will prove beneficial.
