KARACHI, May 03 (TNS):  Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (PIB) and Bahadurabad factions reunited and announced to hold a grand rally on May 05 in their stronghold at Tunki ground, Liaquatabad.

Dr Farooq Sattar on late night Wednesday visited MQMP’s Bahadurabad office and announced to call of his May 04 rally.

“I am calling off May 04 rally just for a better future of Muhajir community,” said Sattar.

Farooq Sattar announced to hold a joint public gathering with the Bahadurabad group at the Tunki Ground scheduled at May 05.

He said that 90 percent of the PSP members will rejoin MQMP if both MQMP factions able to hold a joint gathering.

“I am saying from last two days there shouldn’t be two gathering,” he added.

On March 30, disgruntled MQM-P PIB leader Dr Farooq Sattar visited the party’s Bahadurabad office.

The five-member bench of the ECP, headed by Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan, had given the order in a case pertaining to the intra-party dispute, stating that Farooq could not lead party as a convener.

The verdict was later overruled by Islamabad high court (IHC).

The rift in the party emerged after Farroq Sattar nominated his close aide Kamran Tessori for Senate elections followed by ‘Rabta Committee’s dismissal of latter’s nomination causing the party to be divided in two different grups: MQM(PIB) and MQM(Bahadurabad).

On the other hand Rabta Committee had nominated Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui as party’s convener after dismissing Farooq Sattar.
