ISLAMABAD, May 03 (TNS): Minister of State for Power, Abid Sher Ali on Wednesday said that Neelum-Jhelum and wind plants would bring improvements in the energy sector.
Talking to a private news channel, he said there was a shortfall in electricity and some other technical reasons due to which, the people had to face two hours load-shedding.
The country had to face 18-hours load-shedding during the previous government tenure, but Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government after coming into power focused on energy projects to address the issue, he said.
The PML-N government had provided uninterrupted power and gas supply to industrial sector besides, meeting the demand of the domestic users, he said. “We have added over 10,000-megawatt electricity to the national grid and in the coming days, more power would be added in the system, ” he added.
The government had made efforts for rectifying transmission system and bridging the gap between demand and supply, he said. To a question about load-shedding, he said the technical issues would be removed soon for smooth supply of electricity.
