ISLAMABAD, May 10 (TNS): Chairman, Ministry of Railways Javed Anwar had a meeting with Mr. Yang, Vice President, China Railways Construction Corporation (CRCC) on Wednesday at Ministry of Railways.
Mr Yang showed interest in initial feasibility study on Main Line (ML) II (Kotri- Attock line) and ML III (Rohri Chaman Line). CRCC wants to carry out the project under umbrella of CPEC. The Chairman extended all possible collaboration between two organizations.
It was agreed that under the article 1 of Framework Agreement, Pakistan Railways and its Chinese counterpart will cooperate on the project, says a press release. Four Chinese companies are already working under this synchronization.
Ministry of Railways always ask for competitive bidding for its projects and has appreciated the participation of CRCC in bidding of ML II feasibility study. Even consultant has been hired for feasibility study of Rohri Taftan Section and Quetta Kotla jam section.
The meeting was also attended by Secretary Railway Board Zubair Shafi Ghouri, DG Planning Mazhar Ali Shah, DG Technical Munawar Ali Shah and DG Operations Maryam Gillani.
