7 officials of Rawalpindi police found responsible in escaping three prisoners

Rawalpindi May 11 (TNS): A First Information Report has been registered against seven police officials of Ghanj Mandi police station for allegedly facilitating three prisoners to escape the prison.

According to FIR, Suspects Shafi Ullah, Zuhoor ul Rehman and Allahyar were detained in Rata Amral police station under the 302/297 act and they were shifted to the Ghanj Mandi police station on the physical remand. The suspects managed to escape from the lockup under the nose of the police.

After the initial inquiry, inspector Raja Tahir Mehmood, Assistant sub-inspector Amanat Khan,  ASI Nadeem Khan, Shakeel Ahmed, Shahid Iqbal, Manzoor Hussain and investigation officer to the case Abdul Rehman Shah were found allegedly responsible in the escape of the detainees. An FIR has been registered against them and further investigation was underway.
