Semi Finals Lineup of Pakistan Squash Circuit-I Completed

Islamabad May 11 (TNS): Farhan Zaman, Farhan Mehboob, Ammad Fareed and Israr Ahmed in men’s event, while Zoya Khalid, Madina Zafar, Faiza Zafar and Amna Fayyaz in women’s event reached the semi finals of Pakistan Squash Circuit-I being played at Mushaf Squash Complex, Islamabad, says a press release issued by PAF.

The 1st Quarter Final was a thrilling match between Farhan Zaman and Zahir Shah. Zahir won the first game with a game score of 6/11; however, Farhan came back in the next game and displayed superb stroke play, winning him the game with the game score 11/8. The third game was also a nail biter which was won by Zahir with the game score 9/11 but Farhan came back strongly in the match and booked his place in the semi finals by winning the fourth & fifth game with the game score of 11/4 & 11/7.

The match lasted for 42 minutes. In the 2nd Quarter Final experienced Farhan Mehboob defeated Danish Atlas with the game score of 11/9, 14/12, 6/11 & 11/6. The match lasted for 39 minutes. The 3rd quarter final was played between Ammad Fareed and Tayyab Aslam. Ammad outclassed Tayyab in 47 minutes match winning in straight sets with the score 11/5, 15/13 & 11/6.

The fourth quarter final was played between Israr Ahmed and Asim Khan. Both the players exhibited exquisite game of squash and entertained the spectators with some excellent shots. However Israr Ahmed won the match with the game score of 11/8, 11/13, 11/6 and 11/7. The match lasted for 72 minutes.

In the women’s event Zoya Khalid brushed aside Noor Ul Ain Ejaz with the game score 12-10, 11-4, 11-4 in 17 Min, while Madina Zafar defeated Moqaddas Ashraf with the game score 6-11, 11-4, 4-0 (Retd) in a match lasted for 21 Minutes. The 3rd quarter final was a thrilling match between Faiza Zafar and Riffat Khan. Faiza won the match with the game score 4-11, 11-2, 11-13, 11-6, 11-6 in 35 Minutes. In the last quarter final of the day Amna Fayyaz outclassed Noor UI Huda in just 19 minutes with the game score of 11-7, 11-7, 11-7.

Semi Finals of both Men & Women events would be played tomorrow (Saturday).
