CJ orders AirBlue officials to pay compensation to 2010 plane-crash victims

Islamabad, May 12 (TNS): In the hearing of fake degrees of pilots, which resumed in top court’s Karachi registry, Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar ordered officials of Airblue to pay the compensation to the 2010 Airblue crash victim’s families.
It has been eight years since the Air blue Flight 202 crashed in the Margalla Hills Islamabad and still, the families of the victims have not been granted compensation promised by the Airblue authorities for their loss.
The families who were affected by the tragic incident of Airblue reached Karachi Registry of the Supreme Court.
The affected families told the court, “The complete compensation has not been provided to us even to this day by responsible authorities”
Justice Nisar remarked to the Managing Director of the concerned Airlines Junaid Khan, “You are the CEO of the company, and you don’t know this is happening?”
The top judge also ordered that each family of the 147 victims should be compensated with 25 lacs and questioned the MD of the Airblue airlines, why the amount has not been paid yet, Justice Nisar further ordered, that the amount should be deposited in court along with stamp papers as proof to the top court.
The top Court of Karachi registry has also ordered the airlines in its judgment to submit the list of all those who were martyred in the tragic crash along with compensation dues on Sunday.
