Mohammad Ali Jinnah Park inaugurated in Canada

Winnipeg, May 14 (TNS): A large number of people living across Canada participated in the opening of the Mohammad Ali Jinnah Park on Sunday which is the first ever public park in the continent to be named after the great Pakistan Leader.
The park named after Pakistan’s founder is located in Winnipeg, which is situated in Manitoba province of Canada, in the south-west of the country.
On the occasion, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Canada Tariq Azim Khan gave credit to Pakistani-Canadian community in the state, whose efforts successfully helped in naming the park after Quaid-e-Azam.

While praising the struggles of Pakistani community the high commissioner quoted, a saying of the great leader, “With faith, discipline and selfless devotion to duty, there is nothing worthwhile you cannot achieve”
The High Commissioner also said that the Pakistani Community in Canda is working as a bridge between communities and is showcasing a better and softer image of Pakistan by conducting cultural Gallas.
The community leader of the area, Dr Rashid Bahri led the campaign for the Park and was jubilant on the opening, he said that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is a symbol of great leadership and the park will be a tribute to our great leader.
Pakistan’s Student Association in the state of Manitoba Masrur Khan said, “The is a historic day for the Pakistani Community in Canada and we have struggled hard for this step”
Canadian Parliament member Iqra Khalid addressed the inauguration ceremony and congratulated the Pakistani community on their historic achievement in the country.
Janice Luke, the city Councillor of Winnipeg announced on the occasion of preparing a cricket ground within the park and was overwhelmed on working with the Pakistani community.
