Islamabad, May 15 (TNS): Ireland got themselves in the driving seat after a scintillating knock by Kevin O’Brien of 118 runs, which made him the first ever Irish player to score a test ton, on the 4th day of the inaugural test.

Kevin O’Brien and Stuart Thompson were involved in a tremendous 7th wicket partnership which brought the Irish back into the game after Pakistan imposed a follow-on in the first innings for the first time in 16 years.

Ireland now leads by 145 runs and has become the first team on Test debut to score more than 300 runs in the second innings, the Irish finished off with 319/7 at stumps on the fourth day.

On the last day of the inaugural test, Pakistan needs 3 wickets to restrict Ireland to a meagre total and clinch the victory in the inaugural test.
