Punjab Open Boxing Championship: Amir Khan lands in Lahore to attend closing ceremony

Lahore, May 15 (TNS): Star boxer Amir Khan arrived in Lahore on Tuesday along with his wife Faryal Makhdoom to participate in the closing ceremony of Punjab Open Boxing Championship.

The British-Pakistani boxer Amir Khan will be a Chief guest at the ceremony and will distribute prizes to the winners of the competition.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Punjab Sports Board Chairman Jahangir Khanzada announced that Khan will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony and it will be a source of inspiration for young athletes and boxers.

Earlier Amir Khan vowed that he will work on the development of boxing in Pakistan so that one day they bring laurels to the country.

The boxer received a warm welcome at the airport by the by Khanzada and also director of sports Anees Sheikh.

The closing ceremony of the Open Boxing Championship will be held in the Nishtar Park Sports Complex in Lahore.

While addressing the media in London, the star boxer stated that Pakistan is a paradise for investors and businessmen and he intends to establish numerous training academies for budding boxers in the country.
