Imam and Faheem enter Test Player Rankings after impressive showings against Ireland

Islamabad, May 16 (TNS): Allrounder Faheem Ashraf and Opener Imam Ul Haq have managed to make the new Test Player Rankings of International Cricket Council after impressive batting performances against Ireland.

Faheem and Imam are placed 81st and 113th in the rankings respectively after the first test against Ireland at Malahide.

Imam scored a match-winning 74 in the fourth innings of the test match while chasing a total of 160 on the last day of the test, while Faheem scored a crucial inning of 83 in the first innings which helped Pakistan mount a score of 310.

Pace bowlers Mohammad Abbas and Mohammad Amir have moved up the ladder with Abbas gaining eight slots to reach a career-best 29th position and Amir advancing two places to 37th position. Abbas finished with nine for 110 in the match while Amir took five for 72.

In the ICC Test Team Rankings, Pakistan has gained one point after victory in the one-off Test. They remain in the seventh position with 87 points while Ireland, who will get a proper ranking only after eight Test matches, are yet to secure their first points.
