ISLAMABAD, May 17 (TNS): With the start of holy month of Ramadan, Many local vendors and shop owners selling religious items all across the country are doing a brisk trade as devotees flock to their shops outside mosques and markets.
Many hawkers and vendors on various roads and outside the mosques are selling caps, atar (perfume), jainamaz (prayer mat), tasbihs (prayer beads), surma (powder for eyes) and meswak (wooden tooth brush) in full swing.
The seasonal cap sellers are also busy selling caps along with the regular vendors.
According to vendors, cap and atar sales will increase after the 25th Ramadan and continue till before Eid.
Aiming at those days, hundreds of varieties and eye-catching caps and jainamazs for customers, said some vendors.
The people of Muslims community are now busy in buying their attires of their choice despite their limited income. All the city markets are busy selling their commodities to the shoppers.
“By the grace of Allah, the sales increase in the month of Ramadan because Muslims follow Sunnah. So, they use Miswakh, Attar, the cap for performing prayers and Tasbiya (rosary) and Musallah,” a shopkeeper, said.
