KARACHI May 18 (TNS): Amid rising temperature in the holy month of Ramzan in the most populous city of the country, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a heat wave advisory in Karachi raising the fears of the public.

Met Office says that temperature in the provincial capital touched the sweltering 40 degrees.

According to the advisory, the first week of Ramadan will reel under high temperature. Met Office has asked the citizens to adopt caution and refrain going out from their houses without necessity between 11 am and 4 pm.

The concerned departments have also been advised to continue uninterrupted provision of water and electricity in the city to avoid any untoward situation.

The economic hub has been suffering load shedding of 10-12 hours despite the mercury level remaining high and the arrival of Ramadan.

Met Office says that the weather will possibly turn better following light drizzle in the city after June 15.
