Islamabad, May 22 (TNS): Questioning over the release of Colonel Joseph, Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf (PTI) leader Shireen Mazari said on Tuesday, why Colonel Joseph has been released.
While addressing the National Assembly Mazari said,“The government should inform the parliament that how the American airplane came to Chaklala airbase from the Bagram airbase in Afghanistan to receive the American diplomat”
“The government tried to fluke the nation at first by sending the airplane back to its base and then on the next day Colonel Joseph was sent back to his country without a word”, said the lawmaker.
Whenever a diplomat kills someone in our country we let him go, there is no immunity for any ambassador pertaining to murder cases. She added
“The PTI lawmaker stated that the United States has handed 7 years of prison to a Saudi Ambassador in case of murder, new immunity was accepted for the Saudi diplomat in that case.”
Colonel Joseph was wrongly granted immunity by the Pakistani government and I can prove that through Vienna Convention, said Shireen Mazari.
“ The government should answer the question, in the assembly, why it accepted this kind of shameful slavery” quoted Mazzari.
