Islamabad, May 28 (TNS): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Sunday constituted a committee on water distribution, comprising a head Attorney General of Pakistan and one representative of each province, to look into the issues of availability and the distribution of water.
PM Abbasi chaired 38th Council of Common Interests (CCI) meeting at the Prime Minister House on Sunday. Chief Minister of Sindh, Balochistan, and secretaries and senior officials of provinces also attended the meeting.
Ministry of Water Resources gave a presentation about availability and distribution of water in the country as per the Water Apportionment Accord 1991.
The committee will present its recommendations at the next meeting.
