Paris, June 1 (TNS): France will not negotiate trade talks with the United States under pressure amid an increase of tariffs.

French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said France has refused to enter into trade talks with the Group of Seven meeting in Canada. “Being hit by the tariffs will not help us to open the door to any kind of negotiation”.

The United States has announced to impose tariffs on the European Union, Canada and Mexico from Friday.

Le Maire further describes, “We strongly believe that the decision taken today by the American administration is really an unacceptable one. It is injustice and will have dangerous consequences for global growth”.
