ISLAMABAD, June 2 (TNS): The Election Commission of Pakistan called a meeting following the Lahore High Court’s verdict annulling the nomination papers prepared by the Parliament.

Earlier, the Lahore High Court declared invalid the nomination papers in a verdict on the petition challenging the Section 60, 110 and 137 of the Election Act 2018.

The ECP is likely to make changes in the Form-A and Form-B in a called meeting.

The Commission also restricts Returning Officers (ROs) from issuing nomination papers.

The judge while declaring null and void the nomination papers prepared by the Parliament had ordered the ECP to prepare new nomination papers.

The court also ordered the ECP to again add the requirements of Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution in the nomination papers.
