LAHORE, June 2 (TNS): The Supreme Court issued notices to at least 21 individuals including Nawaz Sharif and Javed Hashmi in Asghar Khan Case.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar heard the case in SC Lahore registry. The report related to cabinet’s decision was presented in the court. The JCP issued notices to the recipients of the money.
Court also sent notices to Army officers, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Director General and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
During the hearing, the Chief Justice inquired about procedure devised for the return of money.
The case is related to the alleged distribution of a large amount of money among the politicians to create the Islami Jamhoori Ittihad (IJI) and stop Benazir Bhutto’s PPP from coming to power back in the 1990 elections.
