CJP summons Shahbaz Sharif in salaries case

LAHORE, June 3 (TNS): In a major development the Supreme Court on Sunday summoned PML-N Shehbaz Sharif to clarify the appointment of key officials being paid high salaries.

At the Supreme Court’s Lahore Registry, a two-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar resumed hearing of a suo motu case in connection with the salary structure of public-sector companies.

Earlier, the top judge had directed the chief secretary Punjab to submit a detailed report on the salaries, benefits and privileges being paid to employees of fifty six public-sector companies established by the Punjab government.
