Islamabad, June 9 (TNS): Newly-appointed Pakistan’s caretaker Prime Minister Justice (retired) Nasir-ul-Mulk presided over National Security Committee (NSC) session and discussed the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) meeting which is scheduled to take place in Paris from June 24 to June 29.
The session was briefed by interim Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar about preparations for the next FATF meeting.
Dr. Akhtar gave a detailed presentation to the meeting about the upcoming FATF meeting in Paris and the measures, administrative as well as legal, taken so far by the country to meet FATF requirements, the report quoted PM Office, as saying, in a statement issued by it.
The NSC reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to work with FATF and other international organizations in achieving common goals and shared objectives.
The session, which was attended by the country’s top civilian and military leadership, also discussed Pakistan’s internal and external situation.
The military officials briefed NSC on the ongoing actions against terrorism.
Furthermore, the caretaker prime minister also briefed the committee on his Thursday’s telephonic conversation with US Vice President Mike Pence, who congratulated the former on assuming the PM office.
