Karachi, June 9 (TNS): Former Petroleum Minister Dr. Asim Hussain has been granted permission by an accountability court in Karachi, on Saturday to travel abroad for medical assistance.

Two references have been filed against him of alleged corruption charges before an accountability court.
Dr.Asim moved an application earlier, through his counsel to the court for permission of traveling to abroad for his treatment.
The accountability court judge allowed Dr.Asim to travel abroad for a limited span of time, from June 12 to July 10.
The judge ruled that the case proceedings have been adjourned till July 11 and further proceedings from then on will be held on a daily basis.
The former Petroleum minister and PPP leader was apprehended by Rangers in 2015 while he held the office as head of provincial higher education department.
Last year, Dr. Asim got bail in all three cases against him in March, he was released after 19 months of custody by civilian law enforcement agencies
