Russia June 19, (TNS): England’s Clinical Striker and Captain Harry Kane saved the three lions from a humiliating share of the spoils with Tunisia on Tuesday as he scored a memorable brace on his debut in the world cup.
The Tottenham Hotspur star opened the scoring in the 11th minute for Gareth Southgate’s men which was then canceled out by Tunisia’s Ferjani Sassi, as the African nation won a penalty in the 35th minute courtesy a foul by England fullback Kyle Walker.
Tunisia kept their ground and defended resolutely at 1-1 throughout the second half before Harry Kane stole the show scoring a winner in stoppage time.
The England fans at Volgograd arena erupted in ecstasy after Kane’s winner and it was a night to savor for the three lions.
Throughout the game the grappling at corners took place and twice England’s talisman Harry Kane was wrestled to the ground, however, the VAR officials were unable to spot it.
Kane has scored 15 goals in 25 appearances for England. The last player to score more in their opening 25 games for England was Gary Lineker (20).
