Islamabad, June 19 (TNS): Director General National Database and Registration Authority Zulfiqar Ali on Tuesday rejected all allegations regarding data leaks as baseless.

He was addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Tuesday afternoon in response to allegations leveled by an ex-employee of NADRA regarding sharing of data.

The DG NADRA said the allegation of sharing data of voters to irrelevant persons is totally unfounded.

He said an internal e-mail of a year ago has been cited for leveling allegation, which has nothing to do with data.

Zulfiqar Ali said the Supreme Court appreciated NADRA for its input in dual nationality case, and the allegation of misleading the court in this regard is completely baseless. He said NADRA has also submitted detailed report of its employees having dual nationality.

The DG said NADRA is an autonomous body whose audit is conducted regularly by Accountant General of Pakistan Revenue every year. He said hiring or firing in NADRA is done after a due process. He made it clear that NADRA has developed a very strong internal system and it is impossible for any individual, working in the organization, to share data.
