Renowned Satire writer Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi laid to rest in Karachi

Karachi, June 21(TNS): Renowned humorist and writer Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi was laid to rest on Thursday in Karachi.

The funeral prayers of the legendary satire writer were offered after Zuhr prayers at Sultan Masjid in the defence area of Karachi.

The legend was laid to rest in the graveyard of DHA Phase one. A large number of people including writers attended his funeral.

He passed away yesterday at the age of 94 due to protracted illness.

His notable works include ‘Chiraagh Talay’, ‘Khakam Badahan’, ‘Zarguzasht’ and ‘Aab-i-Gum’, for which he was known as the master craftsmen of urdu literary satire.

He was awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz and Hilal-e-Imtiaz the highest literary civil awards, back in 1999 and 2002 respectively.
