PM Mulk expresses satisfaction over the preparations for polls made by ECP

Islamabad, June 25 (TNS): Prime Minister Justice (R) Nasir-ul-Mulk on Monday chaired a briefing on the preparations and arrangements being made for smooth conduct of General Elections 2018, says a press release issued by the PM Office.

The briefing held at Prime Minister’s Office was attended by Minister for Interior Mr. Muhammad Azam Khan, Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Hasan Askari Rizvi, Chief Minister Sindh Mr. Fazal-ur-Rehman, CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Justice (R) Dost Muhammad Khan, Chief Minister Balochistan Mr. Alauddin Mari, Secretary to Prime Minister Mr. Suhail Aamir, Secretary Election Commission Mr. Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad, Federal Secretaries of Finance, Interior and Defence divisions, Chief Secretaries and IGs of the four provinces, ICT administration and other senior government officials.

Secretary Election Commission made a detailed presentation on the arrangements being made for conducting General Elections 2018. He also elaborated on the details of the Code of Conduct that has been worked out for contesting candidates, presiding officers and the polling staff, the law enforcement agencies deployed for election duties, media and election observers, both local and foreign, who would be monitoring the elections country-wide.

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the preparations made by the Election Commission of Pakistan. He said that ensuring the conduct of free, fair and peaceful elections was the prime responsibility of the Election Commission of Pakistan. The Prime Minister reiterated that the federal and the provincial governments are committed to provide every possible support to the Election Commission in the discharge of its constitutional obligations.
