Rawalpindi, June 26 (TNS):12 years old son of Qamar-ul-Islam, a PML-N candidate and Chaudhry Nisar’s opponent in NA-59 (Rawalpindi), will lead father’s election campaign.

NAB has arrested PML-N leader Raja Qamar-ul-Islam over his alleged involvement in Punjab’s Saaf Pani Company scam.

Salar Raja, Islam’s 12 years old son, announced to continue election campaign of his father.

Salar will also file party ticket of his arrested father to the Returning Officer.

Meanwhile, an accountability court on Tuesday approved a 14-day physical remand of Engineer Qamarul Islam and Waseem Ajmal — accused in the Saaf Pani Company corruption case.

Former CEOs of the company, Islam and Waseem Ajmal, were presented in an accountability court today — a day after they were arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore.

Islam, the PML-N ticket holder from NA-59 Rawalpindi-III who is contesting against Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, has served as the chief executive officer of the Saaf Pani Company and is accused of having awarded contracts for 84 water treatment plants at a higher price. His predecessor Ajmal is also accused in the case.
