Islamabad, June 29(TNS): Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday extended the polling time in wake of the heatwave which will continue in the upcoming general elections commencing from July 25.
Polling hours have been extended for an hour by the ECP, as originally polling hours were from 8am till 5pm, now voters can cast their votes till 6 pm at the polling stations.
Pakistan-Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) earlier requested the ECP to increase the polling time for voters who are elderly or patients so they can cast their votes easily in the hot and humid weather till 8 pm, however, the election regulatory body has only extended the time for an hour.
