Lahore, June 30(TNS): The former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced on Saturday that she will contest the upcoming general elections from NA-125, Lahore as an independent candidate, according to local media sources.
The Returning Officer (RO) of the election commission of Pakistan (ECP), Asif Bashir allotted Mariam Nawaz the electoral symbol of Pencil, as she will be contesting election independently from the Lahore constituency.
Maryam has been issued the electoral symbol on the application of her personal lawyer, the former’s daughter did not withdraw her nomination papers on Friday which was the last day of withdrawal.
