Hurriyat leaders condemn killings of teenagers by Indian troops in Shopian, Baramulla

Srinagar, Jul 11 (TNS): Hurriyat leaders have condemned the killing of five youth including two teenage boys by the firing by Indian forces in Shopian and Baramulla districts.
Teenage boy Tamsheel Ahmad Khan of Vehil, Shopian had sustained injuries in troops’ firing on protesters in Shopian on Tuesday morning succumbed to his injuries at a Srinagar hospital.
A class 11th student Ubaid Manzoor Lone had also succumbed to his fatal wounds, yesterday. He was injured in firing by the forces on protesters in Nadihal, Sopore area of Baramulla district on June 25. Besides, the troops killed three more youth during a cordon and search operation in Kundalan area of Shopian district.
The Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai while telephonically addressing the participants at funeral of teenage martyr Ubaid Manzoor Lone at Nadihal said, “Indian forces have waged a war against people of Kashmir.
People of Shopian, Pulwama and Kulgam are bearing the brunt for forces’ atrocities. Sehrai, who was placed under house arrest further said, “The dissent is being quelled by pellets and bullets. Our younger generation is undeterred and is sacrificing their lives for right to self determination.”
The illegally detained Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement strongly condemned the civilian killings by the Indian forces. “Unrelenting massacre of Kashmiri innocents and criminal silence of humankind on it is disgraceful and disgusting.”
The Mirwaiz-led Hurriyat forum said, the entire Kashmir has been converted into a military garrison where killing has become a routine matter. The forum said that under a well-planned conspiracy, lakhs of forces in absence of any accountability had launched a full-fledged war against people of Kashmir.”
The Chairman of Jammu and Muslim Conference, Shabbir Ahmad Dar along with Muhammad Ahsan Untoo and Mehraj-ud-Din Soleh, visited Redwani, Kulgam on Tuesday to express solidarity with the families of martyrs.
Javed Ahmad Mir, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Zafar Akbar, Barrister Abdul Majid Trambo and advocate Ayub Rathor termed these killings as barbaric.
High Court Bar Association of occupied Kashmir while condemning the killings said, “The killing of 18-year-old Tamseel Ahmad Khan is deplorable. He was directly shot at his head by the forces. Among the 100 injured persons, 17 received pellets in their eyes and 7 received bullet injuries.”
