Belgian business delegate visits TDAP, discusses business opportunities in Pak

ISLAMABAD, July 11 (TNS): A Belgian business delegate, Mr. Dieder Van Reil, Wednesday visited Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) office to discuss and explore business opportunities in Pakistan. TDAP Director General Riaz Ahmad bbriefedMr. Dieder Van Reil that the Authority endeavoring to provide assistance to business forums to pace up country’s trade development.

He mentioned that European Union (EU) was the largest importer of Pakistani products, which amounted to 34 percent of the total exports of Pakistan and Belgium accounted for nine percent of total EU imports from Pakistan. Pakistan’s major exports to Belgium are cotton fabrics, synthetic textiles, readymade garments, hosiery, bed linen, fish & fish preparations, sports goods and leather clothing, he maintained.

The Emerging Pakistan initiative envisaged by Federal Commerce Secretary Younus Dagha, was a way forward in focusing and projecting Pak products abroad that would definitely help enhance Pakistan’s trade with other countries, Riaz Ahmed said and added that TDAP would extend all possible help to him regarding provision of information pertaining to Pakistan’s export-oriented companies. The delegate was provided with the requisite lists of bed linen and pillow covers manufacturers and exporters of Pakistan. On this occasion, the Belgian business delegate Mr. Dieder Van Reil said that Pakistan is a safe country for trade and economic activity. He was also grateful to TDAP for its support, hospitality and sharing of data of export-oriented companies.
