ECP assures free, fair and Transparent Elections

Islamabad, July 12 (TNS): Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Babar Yaqoob assured on Thursday that elections will be held in a free, fair and transparent manner.
He was addressing a news conference in here this afternoon, he said army troops are being deployed to conduct elections peacefully.

The Secretary Election Commission said code of conduct has been issued for security personnel as well. only concerned officials will disseminate election results, he said.

The process of printing and dispatch of ballot papers continues, he add and electoral code of conduct is being fully implemented.

Babar Yaqoob said election-related material will be delivered at every polling station by 24th of this month.

He said mobile phone will not be allowed in polling booth. The Secretary Election Commission said a monitoring system has been introduced for the first time. He said mobile phone will not be allowed in polling booth.

To a question Babar Yaqoob said seventeen thousand polling stations have been declared highly sensitive where CCTV cameras will be installed for vigilance.

Answering another question, he said any candidate having any complaint about conduct of elections can inform the ECP for its redressal.
