NAB to probe Ex-FS Aizaz Chaudhry over car scam

Islamabad, July 13 (TNS): Prime anti-graft watchdog National Accountability Bureau (NAB) all set to probe former foreign secretary Aizaz Chaudhry for alleged misused his authority to facilitate the “illegal purchase” of at least 34 bullet-proof vehicles from Germany.

NAB said Chaudhry allegedly approved a summary to purchase 34 bullet-proof BMWs from Germany.

Fawad Hassan Fawad, a close aide of Nawaz Sharif, had ordered that 20 of the 34 vehicles be used for Sharif family’s protocol.

NAB has also obtained five volumes pertaining to the “illegal purchase” from the foreign ministry.

The watchdog has also obtained a copy of the summary and that of a letter dispatched by Fawad Hassan Fawad.
