Islamabad, July 15 (TNS): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Sunday alleged that former Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif was involved in rigging the 2013 general elections.

Shahbaz Sharif, meanwhile, dismissed the allegation, saying that Imran Khan should first look at himself. Imran Khan was addressing an election rally in Punjab’s Jhang city, with general elections just nine days away. Khan criticised PML-N leadership for ‘ignoring’ Southern Punjab. They have deliberately ignored Southern Punjab as half of the provincial budget is spent on Lahore,” he said.

He said why  Jang is backwards the reason is that decisions for people of this city are taken in Lahore and the kings of Lahore don’t know what’s going on elsewhere,” Khan said.

Khan accused the Shahbaz Sharif administration of getting the kickback in the multi-billion-dollar Metro Bus project in Lahore and Multan. Metro service was launched to get commission and kickbacks and send the money abroad. Shahbaz Sharif launched Multan metro bus but the people don’t need it. They want solutions to their problems,” he said, adding that ‘empty busses’ plying the routes are a loss to national exchequer.
