Fire erupts in Islamabad’s largest weekly bazaar

Islamabad, July 18 (TNS): A fire broke out at weekly Bazaar in Islamabad’s G-9 sector on Wednesday, engulfing over half the shops in the subsidized market.

Dark black clouds could be seen from miles away, fortunately, no casualties were reported since it was off day in the bazaar.

Capital police said they still did not know the cause of the fire.

Huge explosions heard inside the market when the UPS and generator batteries at the stores blasted due to fire.

The fire department sent six fire trucks to the scene but they were unable to control the blaze.

Vehicles from Rescue 1122 and the Quick Response Force also arrived.

Fire fighters from Pak Navy also arrived to scene to control the fire.
