Lahore, July 31 (TNS): Pakistan Muslim league-Quaid (PML-Q) Chaudhry Pervez Elahi could be the next speaker of Punjab Assembly, as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf have suggested him for the position on Tuesday.
The PML-Q leader Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi announced earlier to retain the seat of Punjab Assembly while he will leave both seats of National Assembly.
In a meeting at Bani Gala, Pervaiz Elahi rejected the narrative that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) enjoys majority in the province and also pledged to support PTI Chief Imran Khan in Punjab.
“I never practiced politics of blackmailing and would never do so in the future” he said.
Meanwhile, PTI has claimed to have gained support of 180 MPAs-elect.
