Brussels, July 31 (TNS): Unknown man in Belgium blew himself up in an empty football pitch in eastern Belgium, the town’s vice mayor told media on Tuesday.
Vice Mayor Hasan Aydin told reporters that the identity of the man has not yet been confirmed, but they suspected he was a former military officer.
Aydin said he believed that the incident did not involve terrorism, but rather seemed like a suicide, since the unknown man, wearing a belt of explosives, chose an empty place to blow himself up.
He added that there were no casualties and security measures were taken.
