Islamabad, Aug. 6 (TNS): Blacksheeps within ranks of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) with nexus of land mafia on Monday finally occupied main office of Ministry of Commerce Employees Cooperative Housing Society (MOCECHS).
According to details, NAB team with armed-men stormed the office of MOCECHS located at Fateh Jang road, harassed the staff and expelled the clerical employees from their office.
It is important to mention here that long-term dispute between NAB and the management of the Ministry of Commerce Employees Cooperative Housing Society is talk of the town.
Ministry of Commerce Employees Cooperative Housing Society claims that some corrupt NAB officials wanted to occupy the housing society and the management had submitted several applications to NAB chairman Javed Iqbal and requested him to look into the matter.
Chairman NAB has also been informed by MOCECHS management that Assiant Director Mubashir Kareem, former DG HR NAB Malik Shakil and former DG Rawalpindi NAB Nasir Iqbal Mirza and Director Rizwan wanted to occupy Housing Society. They filed third fabricated reference against newly elected body of the MOCECHS.
These corrupt officials of NAB with nexus of land mafia made it possible to arrest members of newly elected body of MOCECHS and dealers in fake cases with fabricated charges of corruption.
President of MOCECHS Rana Ghulam Farid on 06/11/2017 sent an application to NAB chairman to seek action against corrupt elements in NAB including Nasir Iqbal, Malik Shakil and others members of land mafia.
“Due to the involvement of these officers in corruption questions can be raised upon NAB’s credibility and for not attending to probe ordered since long,” says the application.
The application says the present situation is that corrupt NAB officers have nexus with land mafia‘s members.
The application seeks further information regarding the whole matter, besides holding and immediate inquiry in order to unearth any other fact and to save the applicant against any untoward development.
On Jan. 3, 2018 Rana Ghulam Farid also sent application to NAB Chairman.
In his application, Rana Ghulam Farid’s brother Rana Shahid Sarwar asked NAB to hold inquiry against the NAB officers involved in corruption.
According to the application filed Nasir Iqbal Mirza DG Rawalpindi, DGHR Malik Shakeel Anjum and others in collaboration with land mafia tried to occupy Ministry of Commerce Cooperative Housing Society.
It said on complaint, the honorable chairman NAB himself called my brother Rana Ghulam Farid from the jail on 16-11-2016 and heard all the facts and ordered a probe against the NAB officers trying to bring bad name to the NAB, but so far nothing has taken place.
The application seeks further information regarding the whole matter, besides holding and immediate inquiry in order to unearth any other fact and to save the applicant against any untoward development.
Let it be mentioned here that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal had instructed the department to pursue logical conclusion of at least 179 mega corruption references filed with the bureau citing huge debts that Pakistan owes to world organizations ranging up to some USD84billion.
After tireless efforts of Chairman Welfare Committee Chaudhry Arshad raised voice to protect the rights of thousands of members of society, on which Chairman NAB formed a committee in which former DG HR NAB Malik Shakil and former DG Rawalpindi NAB Nasir Iqbal Mirza were found guilty and both officials were removed from their slots.
These corrupt officials, with nexus of a leader of land mafia and influence in NAB, initiated an inquiry aiming to occupy the Housing Society and to teach lesson to Mazhar Hussain and other newly elected management of MOCECHS.
Chairman Welfare Committee Chaudhry Arshad and MOCECHS delegation met with Chairman NAB and DG NAB Rawalpindi Irfan Mangi who assured them action against corrupt-elements within ranks of anti-graft watchdog.
Chairman Welfare Committee Chaudhry Arshad on May 7, gave a protest call.
Earlier on Friday (August 3, 2018) a NAB team illegally raided houses of Mazhar Husain newly elected Secretary and President MOCECHS Rana Ghulam Farid.
With armed men, Assistant Director NAB, Mubashir Karim stormed houses of Secretary Ministry of Commerce Employees Cooperative Housing Society without any search warrant.
According to NAB sources, the watchdog taking notice of the incident kicked off inquiry into the matter.
But despite all assurances, the Chairman NAB has put the matter in the cold storage which is big question mark over NAB’s slogan “Accountability for All”.
NAB has put 70 to 80 inquires/references against housing societies under the carpet while Ministry of Commerce Employees Cooperative Housing Society has been victimized by corrupt elements within ranks of anti-graft watchdog and land mafia which is question mark on credibility of the key institution.
