Lahore, August 8 (TNS): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Usman Dar’s plea regarding vote recount in NA-73 was rejected by Lahore High Court on Wednesday.

The court  in its verdict upheld Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Asif’s victory in the constituency.

LHC had barred the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) from issuing the victory notification of former foreign minister Khawaja Asif in NA-73 Sialkot constituency.

In his petition, Usman Dar had challenged the victory of Asif pleading that the returning officer did not provide Form-45 to the polling agents.

The PTI leader said that around 7,346 votes were rejected in his constituency and he lost by a margin of 1,406 votes to PML-N leader Khwaja Asif.

In July 25 polls , Khawaja Asif secured 116957 votes against PTI’s Usman Dar who obtained 115464 votes in the constituency.
