Islamabad, August 9 (TNS): Information secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Fawad Chaudhary on Thursday claimed that his party’s numbers have now risen to 180 as far as national seats are concerned after aliance with Akhtar Mehngal’s Balochistan National Party (BNP).
BNP and PTI signed a six-point agenda agreement on the basis of which they have formed decided to form alliance in the centre.
BNP Chief Akhtar Mengal said that the purpose of holding a meeting in Quetta was to make our allies aware what issues people of Balochistan have to face in daily life.
He said: “We have presented our points in front of various political parties on different forums and without these points, we cannot solve the issues of the province.”
Speaking on the occasion, PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Balochistan is a part of the federation and the PTI government will keep the province with it.
He said that the BNP has announced to support Imran Khan for prime minister.
PTI had taken the decisive lead by winning 116 seats against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) which won 64 and 43 seats, respectively in the general elections.
Besides these three major parties, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal Pakistan won 13 seats, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan six seats, Pakistan Muslim League and Balochistan Awami Party four seats each, Balochistan National Party and Grand Democratic Alliance two seats each.
